Breast enlargement
The best candidates for breast enlargement are women who are looking for improvement, not perfection, in the way they look. If you're physically healthy and realistic in your expectations, you may be a good candidate.
A breast enlargement operation will be performed under a General Anaesthetic and will take approximately 1-1,5 hours. An incision, approximately 3-5cms long, may be made in the crease of the underside of the breast or lower edge of the areola. Once the incision is made, the Surgeon will create a pocket for the implant to lie in. This may be either beneath the muscle or beneath the breast tissue. Your size and shape will determine the outcome of the position of the implant and will be discussed fully at consultation with the Surgeon. Following the surgery you will have stitches (these may be dissolvable) in place, covered with a dressing and a sports bra. You will be advised to have your stitches removed, if applicable, at 3 weeks after your operation, or in accordance with your Surgeon’s instructions, and to continue to wear the sports bra 24 hours a day for up to 2 months.
You may also have drainage tubes in your breasts – these will be removed the day after your surgery, before you go home. Your breasts will be firm and swollen at first, and will take several weeks to settle and adapt a more natural position and feel. By wearing your sports bra, you will feel more comfortable and have the necessary support.
Our surgeons prefer silicone-gel filled implant with textured surface because they give a more natural shape and feel. By asymmetric breasts we use different size of prosthesis on the two sides.
